Zeepin already had a basic isual style guide in place. But to implement the visual language properly and do it in a user centered way, understanding and defining the customer was crucial. That's why we ask people in the Zeepin community and users of the current wallet what they're expecting from the Zeewallet. Based on their feedback we created personas and developed the basic user journey with all the different touch points and interaction phases of the Zeewallet. That way we were be able to define the improvements needed in the actual user flow and design of the wallet.

The existing application didn't follow UX standards or guidelines and was mainly focused on functionality, while barely having the end user in mind. It worked perfectly well from a technical point of view, but wasn't intuitive or comfortable to use. To satisfy the users needs, keep them involved in the ecosystem and motivated to use the wallet on a regular basis, the UX needed to be improved significantly. We created new wireframes to build a clear and user friendly structure. There were no new features added to the app, therefore low fidelity wireframes worked out very well and became the foundation for the redesign.

With the results from the UX design process and the style guide from Zeepin, we started creating high fidelity mockups. As this was a redesign, we continually looked at the current application and the new wireframes while improving the UI design, so we could come up with the right design solution. The goal was to visualize the final application as detailed as possible to allow the actual implementation and development to be handled fast and efficiently. Based on the Zeepin style guide we picked a color scheme and used illustrations Zeepin already uses on their websites as inspiration to make the design more engaging and consistent. The round shapes are inspired by their galaxy themed design using planets and meteors. It fits very well with Zeepins corporate design. As a result the user has a seamless experience, transitioning from the Zeepin website to the wallet.
